Sistema Heatables Use and Care Guidelines:
- Remove all labels and packaging materials. Wash before use.
- Wash the container with warm, soapy water.
- Can also be cleaned in a standard household dishwasher (top rack only). Ensure the container is securely placed on the top rack to prevent contact with the heating element and avoid melting.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the surface or dull the finish of the container.
- Avoid using sharp utensils inside the container to prevent scratching or surface damage.
- Safe for use in the microwave (with latches or vents open), refrigerator, and freezer.
Freezing:
- Keep the latches or vents closed when storing the container in the refrigerator or freezer.
- Leave enough space in the container to allow for expansion during freezing, as foods containing water expand when frozen.
- Allow the container to rest at room temperature for a few minutes or run it under warm water before opening the latches or vents, especially when defrosting, as the container may become stiff after freezing.
- Do not hold or lift the container by its lid, latches, clips, vents, or divider after defrosting.
Microwaving:
- Follow the recommended food storage, usage, and heating instructions provided on the food packaging or label. Refer to the user manual of the microwave being used for reheating or defrosting guidelines.
- Cover the container with the lid before microwaving to prevent splatters, but keep the latches or vents open to release steam during heating. Ensure that the built-in steam vents on the lid are not obstructed.
- Microwave food in 1- to 2-minute intervals, checking and stirring between intervals to prevent overheating.
- Use an oven mitt or heat-resistant gloves to hold the container by its base or side handle when removing it from the microwave. Do not hold or lift the container by its lid, latches, clips, vents, or divider.
- Keep the latches or vents open after removing the container from the microwave while the food remains hot.
- Open the lid away from the body to avoid burns from hot steam.
Note: When steaming food using Heatables with the steamer tray, add a sufficient amount of water to the container and place the steamer tray inside. Arrange the food evenly on the tray, cover the container with the lid, and open the latches to release steam. Microwave in 1- to 2-minute intervals, checking both the food and the water level regularly. Add more water as needed to maintain proper steaming.
Cautions:
- Avoid overheating tomato-based sauces, beetroot, curries, oils, turmeric-seasoned foods, and foods high in fat or sugar, as this may cause staining, blistering, melting of the container, or burn injuries.
- Do not reheat or melt butter, or foods high in salt, oil, fat, or sugar (e.g., chocolate, candies, syrup), as this may cause container damage or deformation.
- Avoid using plastic wrap on or inside the container during microwave use, as it may heat, melt, and adhere to the container walls.
Warnings:
- Hold the container carefully by the base or side handle after microwaving, as both the container and its contents may be extremely hot and could cause burns.
- Do not use the lid, latches, clips, vents, or divider to lift or carry the container, especially after microwaving or defrosting.
- Do not use in conventional ovens, on hot plates, under grills, on stovetops, or in convection microwave ovens when using convection settings.
- Do not use the container for cooking popcorn.
- Discontinue use if the container is damaged.
