Seasoning Your Stainless Steel Frypan
A little extra preparation before first use will get the most out of your Ellise Stainless Steel Frypan.
- Spread 1 tablespoon oil 3 (canola or vegetable) on to the base and sides of the frypan using paper towel or soft cloth to evenly coat the surface.
- Heat on MIN temperature for 20 minutes (or until frypan starts to smoke).
- Turn off then let pan cool to room temperature and wipe away excess oil. Do not wash.
During First Use
When turned on for the first time, your new frypan may give off smoke-like vapour for up to 10 minutes. Do not be concerned.
This is due to the initial heating of the materials used. It is safe and not detrimental to the performance of the frypan. The release of vapours will only occur once, this is when the unit is first operated.
During use you may also notice the frypan makes a slight creaking noise as it heats up and cools down. This is due to the expansion and contraction of the components and is normal.
